About WAXid
WAXid (waxid.app) identifies vinyl records and tells you what they might be worth.
Photograph a record, or paste an eBay listing for one you’re thinking of buying. WAXid names the exact pressing if it can, says honestly how sure it is, and asks you for details that would settle it. It never claims to be 100% sure, and the condition grade it gives is an estimate from photos, not a substitute for grading the record in hand.
How it works
Photograph a record and an AI reads it the way a collector would: the catalogue number, the run-out in the dead wax, the barcode, the label text and more. Or skip the photos and type a catalogue number, barcode or run-out yourself, and no AI is involved. WAXid’s own code matches the details against its own copy of the Discogs catalogue and rules pressings out only on real contradictions. When a few close look-alikes are left, an AI compares their Discogs notes to suggest a pick or the one question that would settle it, and your answers decide.
